Volunteering

Well I'm now volunteering for the Ron Paul campaign.  I did not come to this decision easily.  I'm still a little uneasy about parts of his foreign policy but over all I feel as if this is the right man for the job.  I know it's a long shot, but I've abandoned the BS of voting for the "lesser of two evils" that many people have in this country.  I will vote my conscience and work for my candidate.

I really do feel like Republicans have lost their way.  I look at who we could be running.  McCain, Romney, Huckabee...they're all Neo Cons.  All of them are big spenders, all of them are proposing programs that would only expand the size of the Federal Government.  I love this quote from Barry Goldwater.

"Remember, when the government is big enough to give you everything you want, it's big enough to take away everything you have."

New Album

I've been working really hard on my traditional Irish music lately.  I took a week off in Dec. and started working on a full length album.  Mostly traditional folk and drinking songs, but I threw in a couple rebel songs too (hey! You don't have to be Catholic to not like the English occupation of Ulster...and my family is from Armagh.  Why should I like the Church of England?  They ran us Presbies out of Scotland...they occupy our land in Ireland...and were absolutely brutal to my Puritan brethren!  There Sean...that's my justification for singing rebel songs!  Don't think I'm some Papal supporter... ;) )

I put a rough mix up at http://www.myspace.com/logueandthebanshee

I'm singing, playing guitar, banjo, mandolin, bass, accordion, and in a lot of song tin whistle (though not this track), and some tracks yet to come the Small Pipes.

For those interested and know a bit about Irish folk music, here's the tracks (not in order) that I've recorded.
Whiskey in the Jar (on the myspace site)
Broad Black Brimmer
Merry Plow Boy
Orange and the Green
The Bard of Armagh
Highland Paddy
The Wild Rover
The Lambs on the Green Hills
All for Me Grog
Dance Around the Spinning Wheel
Johnny Jump Up

I recorded my dog

Tonight I recorded Fleetwood barking (with the help of Heidi).

We then ran it through prot tools, did a lot of pitch shifting, a lot of timing, put some guitar to it, and came out with this holiday classic:
Fleetwood the Dog
